Benvenuti a Club Femminile Italiano (Welcome to the Italian Woman's Club)
Founded on June 13, 1923, the Italian Woman’s Club was born from friendship, service, and a shared pride in Italian heritage. Its roots trace back to World War I, when women of Italian ancestry worked together in support of the Italian Red Cross. After the war, inspired by their bond and encouraged by Princess Santa Borghese, these women formed a club dedicated to culture, community, and philanthropy.
From its earliest days, the Club focused on preserving Italian language, arts, traditions, and culture, while quickly expanding its mission to charitable service. Over the decades, the Italian Woman’s Club has supported countless causes locally and internationally—providing aid to those in need, responding to natural disasters in Italy, and contributing to educational and cultural institutions.
The Club gained national recognition in the mid-20th century through legendary fundraising events such as the Dean Martin Extravaganzas, which enabled the donation of thousands of dollars to charitable organizations. Alongside philanthropy, members have enjoyed a rich cultural life through speakers, musical performances, Italian language programs, and community celebrations.
Today, the Italian Woman’s Club proudly continues its founding mission of social, cultural, educational, and philanthropic service. Guided by its enduring motto—Per Tenere Accesa Una Speranza (“To Keep Hope Alive”)—the Club remains committed to honoring its heritage while building a vibrant future for generations to come.
